Founded in 1984 by Tom Hewlett, Portland Gallery is one of London's leading Art Galleries dealing in Modern British and Contemporary paintings. A particular specialisation is the work of the Scottish Colourists, S. J. Peploe, F. C. B. Cadell, Leslie Hunter and J.D. Fergusson and their followers including Anne Redpath, John Maclauchlan Milne and Archie Forrest.
We exclusively represent Mary Fedden and Philip Jackson. Among the Estates which we represent are those of Edward Seago, Cadell and Maclauchlan Milne.
2010 highlights include retrospectives for Seago and Milne. We are exhibiting at Masterpiece Art Fair in June and in September holding a retrospective for the late John Pawle. December will see the publication of the Gary Bunt biography in conjunction with his exhibition.
We hold monthly exhibitions by well known and emerging contemporary artists. We are also interested in purchasing 20th Century and contemporary paintings and sculpture and are happy to advise both individuals and institutions on the acquisition and sale of works of art.
The Cadell biography is to be republished with 150 illustrations. This will coincide with our Cadell Exhibition in February 2011.
